Our youth team: “Fabrika” Project Office marked its fourth anniversary!
“FABRIKA” Project Office marked its fourth anniversary on December 1, 2021. As a personnel development project FABRIKA started in 2017 and was aimed at training specialists in the field of project management in nuclear industry. Rosatom Corporate Academy acted as a key industry partner of the project.
Creation of FABRIKA was dictated by high rates of industry development. The number of international projects and with them the need for experts in project management of all levels - heads, managers, experts - grew significantly. The portfolio of Rusatom Service JSC foreign orders totaled over 100 large-scale projects in the amount of about $700 million at the end of 2017. Considering the scope of work, effective implementation of projects in the medium term until 2023 required an almost threefold increase in the number of highly qualified project management specialists. In other words, FABRIKA was destined to be born.
The project concept was approved at the Rosatom SC level in September, 2017 and already in November the project start team began to work. The first qualifying stage was completed by 30 graduates of leading Russian universities motivated to work in nuclear industry. Many have become familiar in practice with the process of participating in international tenders, contracting and managing small and medium-sized projects in nuclear industry.
The main idea of FABRIKA was to acquire the necessary competencies and skills through the implementation of practical tasks. The development of “fabricants” was arranged based on the 70/20/10 principle, where 70 was development through direct execution of tasks, 20 was training through experience exchange and 10 was training by means of briefings. The key role was assigned to mentors - Rusatom Service JSC current managers and project managers, to whom participants are directly subordinate. Experienced professionals became mentors, who set tasks, instructed the mentees and tracked their results, gave operational feedback.
Specialists training under the project started in 2020 in the field of full-scope simulator construction for Rusatom Service JSC subsidiary - JSC ETC GET. Students and graduates of technical universities - programmers, designers, thermal physicists, mathematicians, system administrators - were hired.
“I learned about FABRIKA on the hh.ru website. Work in nuclear industry was a priority for me as a graduate of the International Relations Institute of the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”. Passing the test and receiving an offer to work in the project was my first success. The fact that the company’s management participates in the life of the project was important and unexpected for me. I always remember this “fabrika time” with warmth. I started in the export control department under the leadership of Mariya Roskoshnaya, a leader who truly cares about the company. This is where my work journey continues,” the former “fabricant” Timur Muhanov shares his emotions. Three years later he took the position of project manager in Global Trade Compliance and Digital Learning.
After 4 years one can safely say that FABRIKA turned out exactly as the creators intended it - dynamic, ambitious, energetic and effective.
About 2,000 candidates were offered to join FABRIKA, 105 of them were hired for an urgent employment contract under the mentorship of more experienced colleagues, almost 50% of them became full-time employees of the company and industry!
FABRIKA are students and graduates of leading universities in the country: NRNU MEPhI, NRU MPEI, Bauman MSTU, Lomonosov MSU, MGIMO University, RANEPA, etc.

FABRIKA is a project "without borders”: 29 talented young specialists work in Rusatom Service JSC subsidiaries - ATEX JSC, JSC ETC GET and other industry organizations - Rosatom State Corporation, Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, Rusatom Healthcare JSC, Atomstroyexport JSC, ANO CPE “Rosatom Technical Academy” and Specialized Scientific Research Institute of Instrument Engineering JSC
(SNIIP JSC).
