Rosatom trained specialists of the UAE nuclear regulator on export control issues

From January 27 to 30, 2020, Rusatom Service JSC conducted a four-day export control training course for specialists from the UAE Federal Office for Nuclear Regulation (FANR). The training was aimed at in-depth study of the issues of export of goods and technologies of dual-use nuclear profile, the implementation of catch-all mechanisms, as well as the exchange of “best practices” of organizing the export control system at the national and corporate levels. As part of the training, a series of lectures and a discussion with a case-study was held; for better assimilation of the material, the organizers prepared a business game and watching video materials. The employees who completed the training and successfully passed the final test were given certificates. This is the first completed project between Rosatom State Corporation and FANR. Alexander Voronkov, Director of the Regional Center of Rosatom in the Middle East and North Africa, noted: “We see a high interest of our colleagues from the UAE in the nuclear export control system implemented in Russia. The knowledge gained during the training can be used by FANR specialists both in their daily activities with existing procedures for controlling the transfer of dual-use goods and technologies, and for introducing new control tools. " The head of the export control department of Rusatom Service JSC Maria Luxurious noted the high level of training of students in export control issues, as well as the presence of a system that includes the most modern technologies for organizing work processes.
