Business Breakfast on Military-Industrial Complex Digitalization Held in Moscow
September 15–17, 2021, saw the 10th Forum on Russia's military-industrial complex (MIC) digitalization,IT at Military-Industrial Complex Service(ITMIC02-21). Devoted to Russia's MIC digitalization issues, the anniversary forum was held in order to work out a systematic approach to MIC enterprises digital transformation procedure.
A focused business breakfast Engineering Software: State Support Measures on Ensuring Process Independence of The Industry with renowned experts from MIC enterprises and IT companies was held within the forum.
Vladimir Dolotov, deputy director of engineering with ETC GET, JSC,gavea talk on Digital Twins. Vladimir mentioned the prospects of digital twins development, described how they worked, and highlighted the benefits of using them.
“Digital twins practically allow producing solutions for a range of tasks, such as analyzing design solutions at a development stage, cutting operational costs by finely adjusting procedures and operating modes of complex elements, as well as modeling abnormal and emergency modes that cannot be tested in real life or, if tested, might damage the equipment. Moreover, the twins offer new horizons for research, ensuring unlimited amount of virtual tests and maximum flexibility in adjusting models”, the speaker says.
The business breakfast participants also discussed the opportunities for MIC software import substitution and reviewed a tool for this, namely, a platform called T-FLEX PLM, along with state funding measures for MIC enterprises.
