Annual INDUSTRY DAY 2020 conference in SkolTech

The annual INDUSTRY DAY 2020 conference dedicated to student industrial practices has ended in SkolTech (Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology). The event gives students the opportunity to present their projects to industry representatives in the format of posters and demonstration of prototype projects. This year, the conference was organized online. The authors of the best projects of this year received the right to present them at thematic round tables.

A panel discussion on model-based systems engineering and digital engineering was successfully hold as part of the SkolTech INDUSTRY DAY. The key topic for discussion this time was the methods and procedures of systems engineering for the digitalization of industry in various industries and fields: aviation and space, energy and mechanical engineering, IT and agriculture.

The project manager of JSC ETC GET Alexander Kroshilin was invited by SkolTech to take part in the discussion, where he told the audience about the main directions of the company's activities in the simulator production market.

“Our company has been developing, implementing and maintaining technical equipment for NPP operating personnel for more than three decades. Our competencies include mathematical simulation of process systems and control systems of nuclear power units, CAD development to design nuclear power units and their components, testing of process algorithms of the designed power units. JSC ETC GET is also engaged in research of man-machine interface, development of support systems for NPP operating personnel in emergencies. Thanks to the accumulated experience, we, without false modesty, have become a world leader in simulator production in the nuclear industry”, the speaker said.

The panel discussion was also attended by representatives of leading Russian and foreign companies and startups - Roscosmos State Corporation, TsNIIMash FSUE, Gazprom Space Systems JSC, United Aircraft Corporation, United Shipbuilding Corporation, United Engine Corporation, Steppe Agroholding (Sistema Public Joint Stock Financial Corporation), CLAAS, Glonass Union, Dassault Systems, Sputnix, as well as professors, graduate students and students of SkolTech.

The report of A. Kroshilin did not go unnoticed - the activities of JSC ETC GET aroused the genuine interest of SkolTech, on the part of which a number of proposals were received for participation in new developments of JSC ETC GET, as well as recruitment of SkolTech graduate personnel reserve.

Representatives of SkolTech paid special attention to the development of the company's innovative product - an open platform for simulating “REPEAT” processes (Real-time Platform for Engineering Automated Technologies). According to the plan of our developers, it can be used by both students and experienced engineers, employees of research institutions.

SkolTech was established on October 25, 2011 with the assistance of nine Russian universities and organizations. On October 26, the Skolkovo Foundation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) signed an Agreement on cooperation under the program for creation of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

In August 2012, the first 20 students entered SkolTech, who immediately went to MIT for a one-month internship.
