Ural Federal University opened JSC ETC GET Simulation School

23.11.2023

The JSC ETC GET Simulation School was opened on November 22, 2023 in Ekaterinburg, at the Ural Federal University (UrFU).

Rosatom traditionally pays special attention to personnel training and support for the comprehensive development of young talents, including in engineering and mathematics. The simulation school will become a powerful center of digital competencies for UrFU students and will also provide them with an introduction to the domestic technology of simulator construction, founded by ETC GET more than 30 years ago and still in use today.

Training in the Simulation School will be carried out based on the domestic innovative platform for mathematical simulation developed by JSC ETC GET - REPEAT.

The opening ceremony of the Simulation School was headed by Alexey Kovalevich, Managing Director of JSC ETC GET, and Sergey Kortov, First Vice-Rector of UrFU, and was attended by representatives of the largest industrial enterprises of the country - PJSC "T Plus", Gazprom Transgaz Ekaterinburg, JSC "Urals Turbine Works", JSC "Urals Gas Company", JSC "Urals Civil Aviation Plant" and others.

“Opening of the Simulation School of JSC Engineering and Technology Center GET in our university will enable to deepen the UrFU students' knowledge in the field of mathematical simulation of processes and power engineering objects.

We are sure that thanks to our effective partnership the educational process at UrFU will be brought to a new level, meeting the challenges of real economy sectors in developing digital personnel in the country," said Sergey Kortov, the first projector of UrFU.

JSC Engineering and Technology Center GET has been building the foundation to develop critical digital competencies in the younger generation for years. UrFU students - future graduates of the Simulation School - today got a unique opportunity to start their way towards process breakthroughs. And we are glad to be involved in their bright professional start" noted Alexey Kovalevich, JSC ETC GET Managing Director.

The event program also included a lecture for UrFU students on REPEAT. As part of the lecture, Sergey Bukreev, Director of GET LAB LLC (a part of JSC ETC GET), told about the wide possibilities of REPEAT as a software product, which corresponds to the world quality level by its functional characteristics and has a great potential in the light of dynamic digitalization of production processes in industry.

The simulation school in UrFU has complemented the growing network of engineering and mathematical schools of JSC ETC GET: students of KSPEU (Kazan), TPU (Tomsk), DSTU (Rostov-on-Don), KubSTU (Krasnodar), and MPEI (Moscow) are already learning the basics of mathematical modeling at REPEAT.

For reference:

The “School of Simulation” is implemented within the framework of the “Simulation Factory” industry project. The project is aimed at training young specialists with an appropriate set of competencies to work in the field of nuclear power.

The main project goal is to create a permanent candidate pool of students and graduates of the supporting universities in the Russian Federation regions, who have successfully completed the joint training program, to implement JSC ETC GET international projects.
