Modernization of systems and equipment
About the direction
Rusatom Service JSC provides integrated solutions to modernize systems and equipment of nuclear and thermal power plants.
Modernization allows to significantly increase the safety level of the power unit, extends the service life of its systems and equipment, and improves their specifications and operability.
Projects
Rusatom Service JSC has experience in modernization projects for systems and equipment both at Russian power facilities and abroad - Armenia, Bulgaria, etc.
As part of the project to extend the service life of Armenian NPP Power Unit No. 2, a comprehensive modernization of systems and equipment was carried out as a general contractor, namely:
- reactor vessel recovery heat treatment (annealing);
- pgrade of 2 turbine generators with capacity increase (replacement of turbines, condensers, moisture steam reheater (MSR), turbine generators, condensate electric pump (CEP) excitation systems);
- replacement of 2 unit transformers, generator conductors, RPA;
- emergency core cooling system upgrade;
- spray system upgrade;
- upgrade of the reliable power supply system, including the ventilation and air conditioning system;
- upgrade of the ventilation and air conditioning system of the emergency boron input unit; turbine generators overhaul;
- auxiliary diagrams upgrade;
- fire extinguishing system upgrade;
- screwdriver upgrade;
- and other.
As part of the above mentioned works, more than 3,000 tons of new equipment and materials were delivered to Armenian NPP and more than 800 people were employed to perform the works.
The upgrade resulted in a >15% increase in power generation at the power unit.
- upgrade of neutron flux monitoring equipment (NFME) - “turnkey” project;
- replacement of PGV-1000M steam generators air vents pipelines (design, manufacture and delivery);
- upgrade of generator equipment;
- and other.
The projects were implemented according to the norms of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Russian Federation. The upgraded systems and equipment were successfully implemented based on the productive work, resulting in the achievement of the project objectives and increased reliability and safety of the Kozloduy NPP Power Unit No. 6.
Rusatom Service JSC is also involved to upgrade systems and equipment at thermal power facilities in Russia. Thus, under the contract with TGC-16 JSC, works on turbine technical re-equipment with replacement of the high-pressure cylinder for Nizhnekamskaya TPP are currently being carried out. Rusatom Service JSC supplies main and auxiliary equipment with the development of a working documentation set for subsequent installation works. The project is being implemented under the Capacity Contracting Agreement (CCA) program aimed at renewing the existing capacities of thermal power plants in the Russian Federation.
