Justification of possibility to extend Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 lifetime
Kozloduy NPP lifetime extension is a strategic project, as the nuclear power plant is the main electrical
energy source in Bulgaria that provides over 1/3 of the total annual output. It is also a unique
experience of interaction between the Russian (Rosatom Service JSC, Rosenergoatom Concern JSC,
VNIIAES JSC, OKB Gidropress JSC, Atomtechenergo JSC, etc.) and the Bulgarian (Kozloduy NPP, Risk
Engineering JSC) companies. The project uniqueness is also reflected in highly compressed
implementation deadlines ‒ from November 2014 to January 2017.
Goal of project
Develop justification of Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 lifetime extension up to 60 years, analyses, calculations and quantitative assessment of SSC residual lifetime.

29.09.2014 Contract on works performance on the project is signed. 20.12.2014 Organizational documents on the project are developed and agreed. 17.03.2015 Documents with agreed scope of inspection to be performed during PPM-2015 are signed
